A Benefit to Giving Thanks

“Thank yur ladies and gentlemen.”

If you know that the above quote comes from You’ve Got Mail, then we’re going to remain friends.

There is so much we have to be thankful for. And I love writing this post every year because it forces me to stop and think about thankfulness.

My Pastor did a message this past Sunday on thankfulness and how it really brings God’s favor on your life. God will always love you no matter what, but when you’re thankful, He wants to bless you even more. I’ve seen that first hand with my own child – when he says thank you or is especially appreciative without any prompting, I want to buy him the WORLD.

It would make sense that it’s the same between us and God.

So let’s be thankful this week for all of our blessings! Even if your life isn’t where you think it should be, or your closet isn’t much bigger than a shoe box – we can be thankful that we have a God that loves us and placed us in a country that still recognizes the need to stop and give thanks.

Happy Thanksgibing Back everybody!

Celebrate All the MOMments

mom style, mom life, mom blog, knoxville mom blog, mom fashion,

Choose to be thankful. I’m choosing to ignore the grill tool in that picture.

Motherhood is the craziest thing. It’s what kept me from the blog this week, but there wasn’t any one thing that stood in my way. Just a collection of life and motherhood.

I am constantly reminding myself to celebrate every moment. And truly, it has helped with my patience and miraculously made time slow down even just a wee bit.

That is hands down my go-to advice to mothers – enjoy every phase.

Even before I was pregnant I made a conscious decision to enjoy being baby free. As weird as that sounds (and as hard as it was at times) if you slow down and start listing out the things you’re thankful for in your current phase of life, it really gives you perspective. And establishes the habit of thankfulness. If you’re always looking to the next event/change/phase/thing to make you happy you get in the habit of never being actually happy.

I feel as if I’m always preaching this, but being content with where you are is the key. I was going to continue that sentence with “the key to…” but really, it’s just the key. Grounding your peace in God and His word and just being thankful.

This post took a turn I wasn’t planning, but it goes along with the title – celebrate all the moments. Whether you are a mother or you have one to celebrate – remember that each moment is precious. Look for something to be thankful for.

I’ll give you something to be thankful for…how about these links!? Haha! Here are some fun motherhood posts from over the years (ha – I say years, I’ve only been in this for a couple, but I AM AN EXPERT NOW ;)

2017 Costume

halloween 2017

Tis the day after my birthday and it’s a fun one.

While we don’t go trick or treating, we do like to have fun and get creative around here, also laugh and consider ourselves “kind of a big deal.”

So I thought this was the perfect costume for Jackson this year.

I hope you all have fun tonight! :)

It’s been a full, fun weekend.

One of my best friends got married on Friday, yesterday was my BIRTHDAY (whoop whoop) and today…it’s costume time :)

My goal is to get back at the blog this week. The time off helped me focus on everything going on and at the same time get me reinvigorated to get back at it!

I’ve got some fun ideas and outfits I can’t wait to post and talk about.

Meanwhile…this guy.

Haha, I laugh every time I see this picture and his little face.

My costume also has to do with the movie and as soon as I can get someone to take a picture of me, I’ll post it.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep updated – BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KEEP UPDATED WITH ME. ;)

Have fun out there!
