Sometimes you’ve got to wear your confidence on your sleeve.

Graphic tees are perfect. Why? Because you’re adding interest to your outfit without having to work around a pattern, not to mention the fact that people can immediately get a glimpse into your personality/sense of humor and/or your role in life.

In the case of this perfect shirt from Fiore Boutique in West Town Mall people can immediately summarize that I am…

  1. A mother
  2. Fancy and fashionable with the spelling of the word “Haute”
  3. Obnoxiously confident about myself

All of which would be correct *high five.

The great news is these graphic tees are everywhere, so there’s plenty of messages to choose from. One I currently have my eye on is…”Surely not everyone was kungfu fighting.” Haha that makes me laugh.

Another perk about these things is you can easily dress them up or down. I have worn this exact shirt with the outfit above as well as black work out tights and tennis shoes. If you wash them gently and lay them flat to dry, they’ll look great for you for a while.

My graphic tee dealer is Fiore Boutique because they have a great selection (awesome TV show collection – I’m looking at you New Girl, Fixer Upper fans) but also because they run great sales! I’m all about scooping something up that I can wear multiple ways ON SALE.

Go visit them next to Charming Charlie in West Town Mall and tell them Elizabeth will be there in a minute ;)

Want more graphic tee inspiration? Oh, I’ve got you covered.

My home-bodyness was truly tested last week. Turns out I’m even MORE of a homebody than I realized…

Half way through last week I was hit with a stomach bug. This landed me at home for….well the entire weekend (also Thursday and most of Wednesday). And you know, I was perfectly ok with that.

The fact that it was super rainy all weekend made hunkering down even more appealing. In fact by Sunday night it had been…well a long time since I had even left the house and I could have kept the streak going. Listen, I work hard and I do nothing hard. ;)

On pretty weekends, I am all about getting out for brunch (in fact, it’s on tap for this weekend!). Sure the idea of it sounds more appealing mid-week then it does at 8 o’clock Saturday morning, but once I get everyone dressed and out the door it’s pure enjoyment (dang it! We WILL enjoy it!).

This outfit is perfect in those moments where you want to look cute for a breakfast or brunch but don’t want to put the effort in. I have this on standby for any such occasion. The blazer is cotton (got it a while back on clearance at Target but here is a similar one). It’s definitely the most comfortable of the blazer + jeans looks I’ve been showcasing all month (first one here, second here).

The fact that it’s cotton makes it a comfy but perfectly cute thing to throw on Saturday morning!

The shirt! I’m all about a good graphic tee and this one I could get behind (or in? I guess?)

While it’s no longer for sale at the little online boutique I got it at, it is for sale on Amazon…click on the picture below to get it!

I hope you have some brunch plans in your future – or whatever two meals you want to combine and eat leisurely with friends. Linner maybe? Dunch? ;)

View More: http://southernrootsphotographybybrittany.pass.us/the-spiff--january-blogAs a writer and lover of words, I’m always on the hunt for a good graphic tee. Unfortunately it’s hard to come across ones that I can get behind (ha, literally, cause I’m right behind…you get it).

I love coffee just as much as all the shirts claim to, but you can talk to me before I’ve had it. I wake up pretty happy. I’m generally not a sassy pants, so shirts that have text with underlying attitude don’t reflect who I am, nor do shirts that say harsh things like “Satan is a liar.” Yes, he is. But it just comes across pretty strong/weird when imprinted in gold letters on your sweatshirt.

This shirt, with it’s perfectly scripted text and message of strength (without crossing over into soap-box territory) is just perfect.

And I love it paired with this sweater I picked up from Target. A black and white plaid is juuuust what my closet needs. It’s not stripes or animal print so it’s the perfect pattern for me right now.

You can pick up your own “Elle es Forte” shirt here (it’s French for “she is strong – from Proverbs 31:25). And you can get your own plaid sweater (on clearance) here!

Ooh La La Graphic Tee

Can we all agree that Old Navy is killing it with the graphic tee’s lately?

I’ve seen no shortage of “Holy Chic” and “Lovely” on Instagram (unfortunately I didn’t grab the one with “Fabulous” down the middle right when I saw it – I went back to get it and they were gone *sad face).

This one I got before those other gems hit the shelves. It was on sale for $4.

I’m very picky with the wording of shirts. You are, after all, a walking billboard, so carefully choosing what you advertise is a wise thing to do. Which is why “fabulous” was going to make the cut – because, well, I am *wink.

But seriously, graphic tees are such a fun way to add diversity to your layers. Because it is like wearing a pattern. And this isn’t a animal print or stripe, so I’m doing good in my goal to buy outside that box! Yay me.

The cardigan I’m wearing is from Forever21 and cost $8. Total so far? $12. The chain necklace I also bought at Forever21 (a year or so ago), it was probably around, lets say $9. The shoes are from Target online – $11. So if you don’t count the jeans, this look only cost me around 32 bucks. Proving you can be Oo La La on a budget!

If you ever see cardigans on sale like that, stock up! They are such a great layering piece for fall!

This is going to be my next graphic tee purchase.
