Fresh Kale Bath Company – TREAT YOURSELF

Can you smell the love tonight…

I’ll be honest, I don’t spend a lot of money on pampering myself. But this Valentine’s Day that’s all going to change. (Ha! Maybe I should do for others first, then move onto myself. Yes. Let’s do that).

*Clears throat

This Valentine’s Day I’m going to spend a lot of money pampering others.

Why? Because I finally made my way into Fresh Kale Bath Company in West Town Mall. This place is awesome. Everything with “Fresh Kale Bath Company” on it was made IN STORE. Doesn’t get fresher than that, my friends.

And let me tell you that their scents envelope you in a mini scent vacation before you’ve hit the cash register. And it doesn’t end there. I drove around all day with a basket full of their goodies. Oh I had no where to go, I just didn’t want to get out of my car it smelled so nice.

They have everything to pamper yourself and your loved ones. Bath bombs, bath soak, room/linen spray, lip scrub, solid perfume (which I’ve tried and love love LOVE), shower fizzes! Which I’d like to elaborate on…I’m someone who in my head will take a bath every night, but in reality it happens…Mmmm…once every 4 months? A shower fizz, however is what I need because you put it in the shower and it releases a beautiful aroma. Ah. Yes. I need that.

The other two brands they carry besides their own are Farmhouse Fresh and Finch Berry – which are those beautiful soaps in the picture (let’s just all realize we need to buy two – one to stare at 40 hours a week and the other to actually use).

They can do custom orders and baskets (as you’ll see from my segment posted tomorrow). They have the little melts for your wax warmers, gifts for guys, and butt paste for your baby bottoms – Oh my! What more could you ask for!?

Do stop in and see them and treat SOMEONE this Valentine’s Day!

Products to Help You Look Good All Day

West town mall, sephora, bare minerals, bare minerals liquid foundation, bare minerals primer, makeup primer, why use makeup primer, knoxville beauty blogger, living proof, voluminous hair, how to get voluminous hair, elizabeth ogle, 10 news this morning

Beauty that can’t stop won’t stop.

I laughed at myself the other day as I put on my makeup around 5:00, lamenting over the fact that I was putting it on for only one event.

In my college days (and even just a couple years ago) I would come home from work and fully refresh my makeup. I’m talking, take it all off and start all over again to go somewhere that night. Nowadays it’s like – Where else can I go with this face?! The store? Does anyone need me to go get them gas?

Because I’m really into the makeup-all-day thing, it’s important to find products that will have you looking fresh for hours.

I swear, Bare Minerals has crawled into my head and started eves dropping on my dreams because every time I start to get a craving for a different kind of foundation, they come out with what I was looking for.

This liquid foundation has gotten me so excited. I get the liquidy goodness of their incredible ingredients, with the coverage of a super model and they staying power of…(I can’t think of a good makeup staying power example other than cement but that’s not a good visual).

PLUS it’s only $34. Sure, it’s a few more dollars than their original powder, but it’s still way cheaper than the $60 foundation I was considering putting in my “cart.” Boy am I glad I didn’t.

Check out this week’s segment for more about that dreamy foundation, and AND see the secret weapon I use for voluminous hair (even at the end of the day)…

Want to know what to shop for this time of year? I’ve got the answer to that.

Couple notes about this video…

1. I am wearing pajama bottoms #businessonthetoppartyonthebottom

2. I say “taste” at the end when referring to a night cream, but I promise not matter how many times I’ve thought about actually tasting it, I haven’t….yet (!) ;)

3. There’s one other video on my channel. I’m kind of a big deal on YouTube and have to pace myself so the crowds don’t get too big. That video is about accessorizing one top multiple ways so check it out!

4. Sorry about the light that blinds you when I move my head. The next video will be more professional I promise. (But I can’t promise I won’t be wearing pajama bottoms again).

Never underestimate the power of a good bath.

One of my favorite things to read are the morning/nightly habits of powerful women (which makes me sound like a creepster). I love to know just what it is they do to balance it all and maintain their beauty.

Several times now, I’ve read that they soak in a bath on a regular basis (some every night).

My initial reaction to this? …Every night!? It seems like so much work!! How…?! Why….?!

Then I took a bath with great bath salts. And suddenly it all made sense.

I’ve added bath salts in the past. The kind that relatives give you at Christmas that come in a value pack with a scrub thing and body wash. The scent of which lasts for as long as vending machine bubble gum.

The bath salts I added the other night had a purpose. They help detox your body, help beautify your skin and reduce stress.

So let’s start with the scent…it lasted on me WELL INTO THE NEXT DAY. Boom. The bath itself was great and truly relaxing because I had something in there that was doing my body good. That made me feel good. And yow-zah was my skin soft afterwards!

The best thing about it? If you’ll add one of those sheet masks to your face while you’re in there and just soak listening to relaxing music – it’s like you’ve been to the spa. But you don’t have to find a babysitter, nor do you have to get undressed in a strange room or drive yourself home afterwards. AND (the best part) you don’t have to chunk down $70-$100 for the experience.

These bath salts are $20 for a bag. The bag will last you 2-3 baths. So that’s roughly seven to ten dollars a bath. Would you pay for a spa that offered a detoxing, beautifying and relaxing treatment for seven to ten dollars? To that I’d say… GET ME THERE NOW.

Here’s what I love most about it – it’s not just great while you’re in there soaking away in bless-ed silence, it’s even better afterwards. You feel simultaneously relaxed and reset. Like you can go to bed and wake up running a multi-million dollar company.

It truly is the perfect inexpensive spa escape.

So do your body mind and SOUL some good and pick up a pack. Use this link.

Note: All my opinions are my very own! I won’t write about anything unless I truly like it :)

$10 for All This

ipsy bag, beauty bag, knoxville beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty subscription bag, beauty bag

For less than a pizza, you can have all of this delivered to your mailbox. Well, not less than a Little Caesar’s pizza…or Domino’s on Tuesdays…never mind. How about for a mere $10 you can have all of this!

When I opened my Ipsy bag this month I was very happy with the size of the samples inside. And it’s not the first time it’s happened.

I’ve tried out several of the popular beauty subscriptions, and I can honestly say Ipsy is the best.

Here’s what I got this month and what I think about it…

The bag itself: Mmm not a big fan of this one. I talked about in this post how I plan to use these bags for helping me organize. This one just isn’t my style. But it would probably be good to hold hair stuff because that’s a mirror image of what I look like doing my hair in the morning.    ….why are you laughing.

IT Hair Care – 12 in ONE: I’ve used a hair care product like this before, and I like it. It promises to do a bunch of things (a 12 item long list). I need to try it when I’ve got tangles, BECAUSE I HATE TANGLES. I only used a little and it made the ends of my hair softer and more behaved, so I can imagine this bottle is going to last me well into menopause.

IT Cosmetics: I don’t think it’s related to the hair care product, but it is ironic that they’re both called “it.” While this eyeliner brags about going on smooth (and it does) I didn’t like that it ended up all over my lid within a couple of hours. I use these types of eyeliners on days when I’m going light on the makeup and I was really hoping this would stay put. Maybe with a little bit of help – like a primer or eyeshadow – it will stay in place. Because going on smoothly will help me add the light touch of liner I’m going for.

Lord&Berry lipstick: Nice, neutral shade. Went on smoothly and you didn’t need a lot to add color. Not bad.

Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask in Vanilla Apricot: I’ve never got done with a mask and thought DEAR LORD MY SKIN!!!!!!!!!! And this mask, unfortunately, didn’t break that streak. What I look for is ease of use. This one you leave on from 5-10 minutes and just wipe off – again, not bad.

Dermelect nail polish: It’s really a treatment that helps splitting, weak nails that happens to be colored a delightful shade of purply pink. I’m excited to see what my nails look like at the end of the week. Since I paint my nails every week they are certainly on the weak side, so I’m a great candidate for something like this. I’ll keep you posted…

Sign up for this greatness? You won’t regret it…
