Denim Dilemma

I just started a sentence that was going to compare jean shopping to child birth. I reconsidered it because, A: I’ve never birthed a child, and B: Well, I’ve never birthed a child.

What I was going to say was that it’s painful at first but once you find that I’m-going-to-live-in-these-because-they-go-with-everything-make-my-butt-look-gorgeous-and-are-wildly-comfortable pair, it’s all completely worth it.

My, “I’m-going-to-live-in-these-because-they-go-with-everything-make-my-butt-look-gorgeous-and-are-wildly-comfortable” pair of jeans ripped recently which means I’m on the hunt. And this weekend I did a little research.

The best way to start looking is to go to a place that you know has a wide selection. And when I think good jeans, I immediately think GAP. They are the worlds best pant makers as far as I’m concerned. It’s as if they have secretly measured your body and magically popped your perfect pair in their store.

In fact their fits have gotten even better in the past couple years. They offer up options like long and lean, skinny, curvy, and boot cut (with several variations on the boot cut). They offer each of these options in a variety of washes ranging from super dark to medium light, and not only do they have plenty of sizes, but they also have length variations-average, regular and long.

Their pricing is more than I usually pay for jeans (around $50-$70) but the good news is they often run sales, and if you think about it, you’ll have these things for life so it’s not a bad investment (and really, jeans this good under $100 are pretty hard to find).

I started my search at GAP because it’s good to go to a place that has a lot of options. I now know what fit I’m looking for and can either pop back into GAP and grab it, or I can shop around some more and see what the other places have to offer.

I’ll continue on my search, you keep tuning into the spiff all week for more secrets as to how to make jean shopping a little less painful.

Happy Monday!
