For You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my trust from my youth and the source of my confidence. -Psalm 71:5

This verse sits in the corner of the mirror I use to do my makeup. It sits there so that I will be reminded that MAC isn’t the source of my confidence and neither is Dove or my hair straightener.

The Lord is the source of my confidence.  He is the well from which I draw my self worth.

I like to watch certain actresses because if you look closely you see that they aren’t, in fact, the most beautiful women in the world, but they carry themselves like they are exactly that.  The sad part is, we know all too well that their life isn’t what we think it is and that most of the time they place their trust in people or money or fame and it never seems to work out. 

But we know something they don’t know, the secret to true confidence is our Creator.  Each one of us can walk, and talk, and dress and go about being ourselves with an endless supply of utmost confidence because the most important being in this universe is in love with just who we are. 

Keep that in the back of your mind.  And when people don’t rain down compliments on you, or when you have a bad hair day, just know the lover of your soul smiles every time He thinks about you-and that’s a lot.
