Spiff Sense

It never hurts to be reminded what makes for a good outfit. This week this spiff is going to do just that.  Take a look at what I think are the biggest keys to looking good in what you wear-all week long!

The key to mastering any look is: balance, balance, balance.  The best kinds of outfits are balanced in volume, texture, and style.  For example, the girl in the picture on the right has balanced out her very voluminous top with a slim pencil skirt.  She has also balanced a statement making green with a neutral white in both her skirt and shoes, and to take it a step further, she has paired no other jewelry with her statement necklace because it’s bold enough to be the only piece she needs.

Another good example is the picture to the left.  Again, a voluminous top is paired with a neutral-dark, slim jeans.  This works because her jeans don’t compete with the volume of her top.  Looking at her jewelry, because her top has such a busy print she has on a simple beaded necklace which is just enough to reflect light and give her movement, but nothing that would take away from the gorgeous print of the top.  She could have also opted for simple hoop earrings.

Balance can go either way on the body.  If you want to go with wide leg pants, then balance them out with a top that has no volume whatsoever like a button down or a simple fitted shirt.
