Oh to Be

Contentment is such a valuable thing.

Unfortunately I think this is realized more often when it’s lost rather than when it’s gained.
The hope is, though, that in cultivating a relationship with God there’s no room for discontent.

And so marks the deepest angle anyone has ever taken when setting out to write about a nail polish.

It’s the name that started all that. “Oh to be 25 again!” is one of my top 5, nay, top 3 favorite nail polish colors of all time. Mainly because it’s stood time’s test and is the embodiment of fall. Not quite brown, not quite red; dark but not black dark.

I’ve got so many wonderful memories tied to this nail polish-before during and after being 25. Which is what I cherish most about it.

Its name and color remind me that it’s possible to be constantly content.
That wishing to be another age doesn’t do you any good. It’s a prison you create for yourself when you wish to be something/someone/some age you are not.

So enjoy this color, and these deep thoughts.
Oh to be (insert your age here) again!

“If you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” Luke 14:10
