Finding the Suit that Suits You

By the fashion worlds standards this blog about swimsuits is extremely late.  It should be all about fall clothing now, but I refuse to be hustled through the seasons.  It’s only July and with the heat going the way it is swimsuit season is far from over.
Let’s start this week off with some spiff on how to buy a swim suit for your body type.
(Before you start reading the next section, it’s important to realize what body type you are.  Get to know your shape and what looks good on you.  Just because you might not be your ideal weight, doesn’t mean you’re heavy everywhere.  You might have some fabulous legs hiding under those baggy pants, and chances are high that you have a super gorgeous waist, you just need to learn how to dress it. Don’t degrade yourself as a whole, really look at how you’re made and find your positive physical qualities…ok now you may continue).
Small-busted: look for suits with ruffles on the top; not only are they wildly cute, but they will also give you the illusion of being, shall we say, more endowed than you actually are.
Big-busted:  Your best bet is to go with a halter-top.  Halters distribute the support so that you’re not hurting your neck and back, and if you go for one that ties both places (and has wide straps) you’re sure to get the custom fit you need to be comfortable and secure.
Pear shaped: Remember, it’s all about balance.  If you want to balance out your bottom then go for a busier top-if you wear bikinis, think about going for a patterned top and a solid bottom that way the eye is drawn upwards.  If you like one-pieces then get something with flair at the top or with some interesting detail at the neckline.  Keep the party going up high.
Apple shaped: If you are this shape (which is a larger upper body and chest) then look for a one piece that draws the eye inward.  A good example is the black and gray suit pictured on Tuesday, July 6.  That pattern draws the eye inward making your waist appear slimmer.

There’s all kinds of bathing suit goodness to be had this week (including some more tips on what kind to buy!) so stop by again tomorrow, and tell a friend!
