“You Sold Me a Hair with a Cake Around It?!”

While cake is not in fact good for your hair (Lord, wouldn’t that be awesome!), that line is from a Seinfeld episode and I think it’s funny.

What actually does help your hair are these items….
1. Salmon-a couple things you’ll see repeatedly this post are Omega 3 fatty acids, protein, and B-12 because your hair thinks they’re delicious.  Salmon is full of all three and includes iron! You can also get all of these from flax seed, which is found in the health food section of the grocery store and can be sprinkled on everything from salad to yogurt.

2. Dark green veggie’s-now aren’t you thankful your mom made you eat them all? They are especially good for your hair because they contain vitamins A and C which your body needs in order to produce its natural conditioner called sebum.

3. Protein (as mentioned earlier) is the 400th push up for your hair-it helps it stay strong!

All in all a balanced diet really helps your hair because not getting enough nutrients and/or going on a crash diet every couple of months really hurt your hairs cycle and will produce dull, weak hair.

I bet you if you looked under Popeye’s hat you’d find a head full of thick shiny hair ;)
