The First Pump

If you’re ever in the mood for a good fairy tale, go down to the corner drug store and read the back of hair product bottles.

It’s like the golden ticket back there.
You turn the bottle over and there’s this description of the perfect world where frizz is a thing of the past and in place of a sun there is your hair that will shine enough to heat the earth. They have you hooked, ready to buy, and all you did was read.

We are admittedly sold by the words on the back of the bottle, so why don’t we try that with ourselves? Instead of complaining about the shape of our nose or the make of our body, why not stand in the mirror and hold an infomercial featuring YOU.

This week is all about building a firm foundation in loving yourself, so I challenge you to stand in front of the mirror and point out things that you love about yourself OUTLOUD and thank God that He made you that way. If you can’t find multiple things, find just one and start there.

Thank God that He gave you a nose, two eyes, your eye color; thank Him over and over and over again. Eventually you will find more to love about your face and pretty soon you’ll realize why God loves the way He created you.
