Booties rocking everywhere.

I made the decision once October hit that I wasn’t going to show off my toes any more because Lord do I hate painting them. Can I get an AMEN. So I’m happy to not be sweating it out in boots anymore now that the weather DECIDED TO COOPERATE.

Since there are so many options when it comes to refreshing your shoe collection this fall, I thought I’d make it even harder with these beauties – Ha! JK. But seriously, it’s not going to be easy deciding which ones not to get.

I do hope the tips I give in the clip will help you decide which shoe is right for your frame.

Couple things I didn’t get to add but wanted to – is to make sure that if you wear a size 10 (like myself) that you try to stay away from pointy-toed boots as best you can. The will make your foot look longer and I’ve never found that to be something I’ve enjoyed – however I did read once that the bigger your foot looks, the smaller your legs looks by comparison. Sooo maybe it’s not such a bad thing to pile on the foot bulk? Haha

Another thing to keep in mind, is if you’re going for tall/flat boots, look for some with minimal hardware. That will help keep everything looking sleek and slim.

Enjoy the rest of these tips and these beautiful boots all found at West Town Mall! See their specific stores below…
Oh and not to mention my fun announcement about Elianna at the end! (PS: this is the first mention of her on TV, Abby just got confused :) – all things I’ll explain to Elianna when she asks why I didn’t save the “other” video)

Slip on Style with These Sneakers

And you won’t want to slip them off.

Slip on sneakers have officially made their mark…in my closet.

I can’t get enough of this style of shoe! Legit. I wanted so many versions I told my husband last year that I might have a problem. Why do I love them so much?

Because they fall exactly in line with my style goals for the year – taking my athliesure looks up a notch. And that’s exactly what they do.

Pair them with black workout tights, a t-shirt and jacket and you’ve got an ultra comfortable, ultra cool look to run around in all day. Pair them with nice jeans and an embellished sweater that can make you look like you belong in fancier settings. These puppies are so. versatile. yet oh so comfortable.

Listen, these shoes have gotten me to quit reaching for my boots and that’s saying something. In a winter like we’re currently having (I’M LOOKING AT YOU, 70 DEGREE DAYS) these are a great alternative to warmer shoes.

I’ve got two pairs I’ll have to give up once spring officially hits, but the rest I’ll be rocking all summer (especially when the toes are in need of a paint).

I’ve pulled together pairs that are a splurge and pairs that are cheapo so you have options! If you’re not quite sure if you’ll love them, go for a cheap pair and see what you think!

Wear this rose gold (or any metallic version) now and well into summer…

Splurge – Naturalizer $69.99 – Dillard’s

Save – Charlotte Russe $15

Of course black works all year round too, and the perforated style of this pair by Sperry will keep your feet so cool. But if you’re more of a glitter gal, the save version down there will be right up your alley!

Splurge – Sperry $59.99 – Dillard’s

Patterned shoes are wonderful if you’re at all like me and don’t buy a ton. The only problem with the snake skin one’s below is you’ll have to say goodbye during the summer months. But that’s when you can temporarily replace them in your heart and on your feet for a pretty floral pair.

Splurge – Vionic $129.99 – Dillard’s

Fall 2016 Inspiration Board

fall fashion, fall 2016, knoxville blogger, knoxville fashion, knoxville fashion blogger, west town mall, elizabeth ogle

Truth? I wanted to fill this fall board with jackets and boooooots.

I also wanted to change my nail polish color to this deep red. So as you can image, this fall I’ll be a pile of boots, jackets and wine red.

So that we both don’t walk around looking like crazy people this fall, here’s a list of things to fill your wardrobe with. And hey, you can get all of these things at West Town Mall.

1. Wine Red Jacket – I will wear this over everything. Pick it up at White House Black Market.

2. Army Green Jacket – This over a white tee, jeans and some booties will potentially be my uniform in a couple months, thanks to Forever21.

3. Black Pleated Skirt – Oh how I love these skirts, Rue21. It’s so flattering because it carves out a waist and gives you a little swing in your step.

4. Chunky Layered Necklace – I’ve been craving one of these, and this one from Ann Taylor is both classic and current (but isn’t everything at Ann Taylor just that?)

5. Big Bag – I like big bags, I can’t lie. And it’s going to help me combine what I need from the diaper bag with what I need for everyday. And this color…well, that’s just good enough to EAT. Pick this one up at Dillard’s or Coach.

6. Tights – Um. Yeah. These from The Limited are what I plan to slip in from September till the last possible hint of winter is gone in April…or maybe May…Junish?

7. GAP Jeans – I don’t have a reason to buy more jeans, but the fact that these and a number of others are on sale at GAP for $12.99 means I’ll start coming up with reasons.

8. Plush Hoodie – American Eagle also has “sexy” in the name of this hoodie, which isn’t often used in the description of these. I’ll bite. Mainly because if I can look sexy and be comfortable? I’m in.

9. Over-the-Knee Boots – Charlotte Russe will have me popping in a lot if they keep these great over-the-knee boots in stock! I’ve been considering these tall boots for years, this is the year I go for it.

I hope this helps get you in the mood for fall! If not, I can email you a whole LIST OF REASONS. :)

Halloween Fun Now & Later

At the risk of sounding like your Dad your junior year of high school…you really need to think about the future…of your Halloween costume!

Is it something you’re going to be able to wear beyond the festivities of this week? Hmm? What are you going to do with it Monday morning when it’s time to go to work?

If you’ll pick any of these looks I’ve cooked up from West Town Mall, it’s as if your costume got accepted into college with a promised job the day after graduation. Why? Because they’re all things that can transition seamlessly into your everyday life.

Full disclosure: there are no Slutty Pumpkins in this list (nor are there any Hanging Chads).

 Kate Middleton (Belk)

Grab a coat, a chic hat and a really cute kid, and lady you’re ready to help rule the British empire in a few…maybe several…years. But gosh, won’t this cream coat look just as delicious on you as a commoner?

Katniss from The Hunger Games (Altar’d State)

The Brave Chic look has never been easier. Grab a simple blue dress, put your hair in a side braid and keep a look on your face like, “I must fight for my family now.”

Scandal (The Limited)

Who would say no to a Halloween costume that makes you look both sexy and powerful? Totally justify the purchase of this gor-ge-ous jacket by making yourself into one of the Scandal characters. And it’s easily done since this jacket was LITERALLY worn by Olivia Pope on the show. Then take it and wear it to every single meeting you ever have afterwards, and watch as people melt in their chairs the moment you enter the room.

Hipster Kids (Charlotte Russe)

An easy, comfortable graphic sweatshirt is not only a great costume (since the sweatshirt says it all), but it’s also an easy/comfortable way to relax on the weekend following the Halloween festivities. These are both SUPER soft. Go as a hipster kid that can’t take enough selfies, or like someone who had a really epic weekend…then go have yourself a really epic weekend.
