Staring at Strangers

This is my third attempt at a sentence that fully conveys to you how much I love fall.

In fact, this whole post could quickly become a fawning over fall fest if I let it, but I won’t…isn’t it so great though!! I mean, soups, tights, boots, jackets, sweaters…I can’t wait!!!! Ok, ok…Just like the dawn of a new season, this one comes with that feeling of “what do I wear!?”
Have no fear, that’s what we stare at other people for.
It’s easy to forget what you looked like and wore last year, because unless you took a picture of every single outfit, you’ve been in summer-clothes-mode and putting on more than one layer just seems, well, hot.
The thing I like to do is look around me and notice what other people are wearing. I’m in the market for a new pair of boots (even though I just bought a new pair last weekend, that literally sent me to squealing!!!), and the way I’m going to determine what kind I like is to take my time and look at the ones I see other people wearing.
It helps to look them being worn because when you shop online or in the store, you have a better mental picture of how certain styles fit and look in the real world. Plus if you see someone wearing a pair you like all you have to do is ask where they got them and all the hard work is done.
The inspiration doesn’t end with boots either. This past weekend I was stuck on what to wear for an event, and while I was walking around a store (clutching my new found boots!!) I saw a girl who had a belted dress on…belts-skirt-I can belt my skirt! I ran home, partly to try on the new boots, and tried on the skirt/belt combo idea and it worked! Thanks to some stranger in the store my fashion conundrum was solved.
Start to take notice of the people around you and this can be your best dressed season yet!
