Checking Out

There are people who, at regular intervals in time, treat some part of their body to a professionals hands, whether it be a facial, manicure, pedicure, massage…I am not one of those people (at any interval in time).

I definitely will never do the manicure thing (been there, tried it, had the smudges before I got to the steering wheel), the pedicure thing I’d be all in for if I could justify the expense as with the facial thing, the massage thing-now there’s where I’ve recently had a change of heart.

Now let’s make you a believer…

The massage I recently had was a 90 minute vacation.
I was introduced to cucumber water (what an amazing idea!), I got to nestle in a bath robe, and for one full hour (the extra 30 minutes was me refusing to leave the luxurious waiting room) I didn’t, or couldn’t reach for my phone or clean something or do the wash-it was just me on a very clean/comfortable/warm massage table and the woman giving me a massage.

Actually, the massage itself was pretty painful at times (those Swede’s know how to cook up a technique!) what I enjoyed most was checking out. And I’m not talking about paying, I mean check out of technology for a little while.

I’m now a big advocate for a 90 minute vacation (hold on to that waiting room time, I’m telling you it’s worth it!), and if you feel like you can’t afford one-save your change! Or if you’re on a diet, reward yourself by contributing to a “massage” jar.

Don’t be like me and write them off for the rich and bored, it’s totally worth it!
