Purplematic

Texas made it’s way into my summer travels for the first time ever, so it was only fitting that I indulged in the new OPI line of Texan colors.
I’ve had my eye on “Houston We have a Purple” ever since the collection came out so really it wasn’t hard to find an excuse to buy it.

My concern was that it fell closely in line with one of my other colors, “Miami Heat” (which is the only OPI name I’ve not been a fan of, so I renamed it “Raspberry Guts”). My concern was well warranted because the colors are dangerously close, in fact, I’m avoiding painting them side by side-I don’t want to think I’ve wasted a color.

“Houston We have a Purple” is a cute name, one of the cutest in fact, but it’s not good for this particular polish in that I don’t see any purple at all on my nails. It’s more magenta, in fact.

Here’s a picture of my very own nails… Maybe my eyes are missing it, but I’m pretty sure there’s no purple there.

Oh well, I like it so it’s a color to stay, if only for the name :)
