Manageable Mandibles

There is a purpose for top coat and bottom coat and while the impatient among us think that purpose is just to take longer getting the color on, they are wrong.

I have found in my weekly color change that a good base coat will make all the difference in the world. Not only will it cause your polish to go on all the more smoother, but it also allows the color to cling on something more solid then your nail making your pretty pretty fingers stay pretty for longer. PLUS (and the hugeness of “PLUS” isn’t an exaggeration) it makes for an easy removal when it comes time to change. And that to me, is well worth the wait time.

For the absolute best self-done manicure follow these steps:

Step one: Base coat.
Step two: The first thin coat of color
Step three: LET IT DRY
Step four: The final coat.
Step five: LET IT DRY
Step six: Top coat
Let IT dry as well and you’re in business.

The older your polish the longer it will stay in that-I think it’s dry but I can move it around on my finger like clay-stage which is so utterly frustrating so you might want to spring for a newer version or drop some nail polish remover in the bottle to thin it out.

And if when painting you get some on the skin around your nail, fret not! That will easily chip off or you can get it off with nail clippers OR it might even flake off after you wash your hands. Be more obsessed with getting it right on your nail.

Hope this helps spiff your hands up!
