Thank-Full

There’s a long list of things to be thankful for today.

Even though our lives aren’t perfect, there’s always something we could be taking for granted.

I thank God for many things on a regular basis, because daily I’m reminded of His love and goodness.

He truly loves us so much, and wants to bless us in even the smallest of ways.

If you don’t have a relationship with Him, start today. Ask Him to come into your heart and renounce sin and Satan. Love God with every minute of your life, there’s nothing – I mean nothing – more rewarding than that.

I read this verse the other morning and it make me so thankful for His Word and how comforting and alive it is…

“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and [a]earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need [b]be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].”  2 Corinthians 9:8 (AMP)

Reflect on all you’re thankful for today, and let that attitude rest in your soul.

And for all my faithful readers out there…

3 Thoughts on 30

It’s October 30th – I’m 30!

Now that I’m officially on the other side of my 20’s I wanted to write down three thoughts.
Not advice, because I know not everyone who reads this is in their 20’s. Not regrets either because there’s no time for that, just thoughts.

I gave myself the option for only 3 because I know writer-me could go on for pages…

1. Every stage of life is fun
I despise the notion of being afraid to get older. It’s ridiculous because it happens to everyone, and it’s something you can’t help. It’s like being afraid the sun will rise tomorrow.

Worrying about your age or getting in fear over it does what…make you younger? No. It does nothing. In fact it probably adds more lines to your face, so quit that.

I plan to make every age I hit look as good as I possibly can by being happy, confident and leaning not to my own understanding.

2. Reveling in who I get to be
I love getting to be the person God created me to be. That’s not to say I love everything about myself as their are flaws and things I need to work on. But there are moments when I’m driving down the road listening to music and thinking about my day, where I just hit a high of true appreciation for how I was created and all the things I get to do and be as “Elizabeth.”

These moments aren’t mine alone, they’re available for you too. And I’m certain they’re God inspired. He loves the person He made each one of us to be, why wouldn’t He want us to love us too!?

3. Trust God
It’s easy to type those two words, and even easier to tell someone else to do it. But when it comes to me in my own life, it’s something I want to get better at.

I always ask myself why don’t I trust Him for everything? He can see all, He knows everything, and He loves us with a greater love than we can even wrap our little brains around.

Why do I worry for even a split second when I know all of that about God? He has great plans for us – plans that include prosperity, life, joy and peace. Leaning on that knowledge and what the word says is where I want to find myself in the next decade of my life.

I read this passage of scripture the other day and I do believe it’s a good one for anyone of any age and at any stage in life…

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.”
-Jeremiah 17:7-8
Turning 30 on the 30th! I know the best is yet to come :)

Post Easter Celebrating

Happy Monday to you!
On a day like today (one that follows a day like yesterday…Easter) it’s easy to get back into the routine and forget about all that God has done for us that the weekend symbolized.

Let this post serve as your reminder.
Jesus suffered through all that pain and agony on the cross so that you might fulfill your destiny in Him.
Our job now, is to rest in the person He created us to be, draw closer to Him daily, and sit back and watch Him use us in ways we could never imagine!

“if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” Luke 14:11
I remember the morning I found this verse in the Message Bible. I read it, and re-read it, and read it again churning it’s simplicity in my mind.

That’s all God expects from us-to simply be ourselves. And why not? He created who we are down to what kind of clothes we would like or what color our hair would really be. Why wouldn’t He want us to relax into the person He so lovingly knit together?

What’s so beautiful about this verse besides that, is the fact that once we learn to relax as ourselves then we become more than ourselves-just typing those words gets me so excited because it’s like a free gift.

He’s saying-“Just BE and in return I will make you BETTER!” It’s so simple and so rewarding, and really the most fantastic spiff of all-just be you.

It doesn’t matter what people are wearing in Paris or New York or whether gray is the new black, if you don’t like it don’t wear it. Nestle down into that skin of yours and love who you are and it won’t matter what you’re wearing because you will walk and talk like the beautiful creation God created you to be.

He loves you so much, walk tall in that revelation today!

How to Become Super-You!

Well, we can cross Valentine’s Day off the holiday list.

I hope that you felt some love :) If you didn’t get a chance to read yesterday’s post (and thus get the ultimate Valentine) do that right now! We’ll wait….
Ok, you’re back!
So let’s talk about building up that self confidence of yours.
Did you know the Bible says in Luke 14:11, “If you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” (The Message)

What that says is you’ve got to get your eyes off of everything around you and focus on being you, but not just that, focus on the “you” God wants you to be.

Isn’t it so tiring trying to figure out what other people want, and being that person for them? Yes, yes it is. So stop! Stop caring what they’ll think (which you’ll never be able to fully know or control) and start loving the skin your in (like someone’s commercial says).

I’ve been thinking a lot of about age lately. I think it’s such a trap of the devil and so sad when people (mainly women) get panicky and afraid of growing older. You know what? You can’t stop it, and everyone’s going to do it. So what can you do? You can wear your age well. Your age doesn’t make you, YOU make you and if you’ll draw the heart of “you” (say the “o”) from GOD then Oh Mama! The world better watch out!

Oh and another added bonus to being content with who you are? You become more than yourself. I have to be honest, I’m not entirely sure what that means, but it does sound like a super power so I’m more than willing to find out! (I am going to study up on that and let you know what I find out.)

From this moment on, let’s focus on being content with who God made us to be. Give that care of what people think and why they think it and what they’re going to do with it once they do, and who they’ll tell and what they’ll think when…give all of that over to God and start loving the skin He’s put you in!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Whether you get something from someone today or not, here’s what the maker of the universe, the God that created all things beautiful and even the concept of beauty itself, here’s what HE think about you-everyday!

“God, your God, chose you out of all the people on Earth for himself as a cherished, personal treasure.”
-Deuteronomy 7:6

“Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish!”
-Ephesians 2:10

“For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
-Romans 8:38-39

“You’re so beautiful, my darling,
so beautiful, and your dove eyes are veiled
By your hair as it flows and shimmers,
like a flock of goats in the distance
streaming down a hillside in the sunshine.
Your smile is generous and full—
expressive and strong and clean.
Your lips are jewel red,
your mouth elegant and inviting,
your veiled cheeks soft and radiant.
The smooth, lithe lines of your neck
command notice—all heads turn in awe and admiration!”
-Song of Solomon 4:1-5

“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.”
-Psalm 139:13-16
