So far this week we’ve talked about the best mascara and cuticle cream, now lets focus on the foundation to looking good-your foundation!

There are several different camps when it comes to foundation texture. There’s the creams, the powders: loose or pressed, there’s heavy coverage, medium, light…all kinds of options.

I belong to the “pressed powder” camp.  I love feeling like I’m not caking something on, while getting good coverage.  MAC is my usual stop for foundation, but while I’m about to be completely out and have a big event around the corner, I’m holding out to get a makeover (they’ll make you over as long as you spend $50!).

Until then, I needed something cheap to keep me going for a little while, so I turned to my handy-dandy Allure’s best beauty buys app and found that L’Oreal’s True Match Super-Blendable Powder won the award for best pressed powder.  I hoped down to Target, picked it up for what I thought was going to be $8.99 when out popped a coupon at the register for $2 off and I was one happy customer.

Plus, they were right! The powder is a great substitute giving me great long lasting coverage.  It’s not something I would switch to exclusively, but is definitely a great stand in.
