Blogger was down yesterday so sorry to all our faithful readers whose world came to a crashing halt when there was nothing new on the spiff.

It will be a double dose day to make up for it J

Wednesday it was all about finding inspiration in magazines. And I would like to point out that you shouldn’t draw your creative limit lines at the pictures the magazine puts out, but also look at ads. There’s been many an inspirational outfit for me that came from looking at how they put something together in an ad (other times it’s been more like, “how does this picture of two people making out sell jeans?”)

Look at patterns as well, sometimes the color combinations inside a pattern in a picture can spark an idea of things you already have in your closet.

And don’t forget shape. How a model has slung a belt over a shirt can inspire you to do them same even if you don’t have the exact belt and shirt. There’s a wide world of opportunities out there, which what makes clothes so fun!
