A visual pet peeve of mine is what I like to call clown lips. It happens when you have foundation on, but not any kind of lip shine/stick/gloss/color.

This can show up exceptionally bad in pictures and according to the article in the December 2009 issues of InStyle isn’t remedied with nude lip stick. So if you’re color-phobic when it comes to your lips, your best bet for pictures is going to be at the very least a “’berry lip color with a hint of sheen’” (according to Los Angeles image consultant Mimi Dorsey).

If you are a stickler to your nude you might want to review old photographs and ask a friend if you look as if you could double as a cadaver. If the answer is yes, switch to something berry!
