You might be the kind of person who shy’s away from accessories because you don’t know how to do it, or you might be the kind of person who does accessorize but never breaks out of your box of pairing the same necklace with the same shirt.

Either way, accessories and playing around with them is nothing to fear-in fact, it can transform an outfit and keep your clothes super fresh for super cheap!

One thing to keep in mind is that the rules of matching are much more relaxed when it comes to jewelry.  In fact, the less matchy matchy you look, the better.

Here are some general color guidelines when it comes to picking jewelry:

If you want to wear brown: pair it with gold jewelry (even if the jewelry is mixed with other colors, as long as the base color is gold, you’re golden)
If you like to wear gray’s: pair it with black, you thought I was going to say silver, but I think that silver on gray is a little boring (unless it’s a super dark gray) Black jewelry stands out even better.
If it’s white you like: it goes with most everything, the nice part is you’ve got a completely blank canvas.
Black is another great canvas-you can pair it with anything, even black jewelry for more depth.

Switch up what you would normally wear to work with something you wouldn’t this week, and watch your wardrobe’s world open wide!
