Costume Ideas Part Two

I bet you ten dollars your first Halloween costume wasn’t the same as mine.

As kids we celebrated every Halloween at our church’s Fall Festival – which was always on Halloween night, something kind of foreign nowadays for some reason. Every little girl my age wanted to be either the Bride of Christ or Ester because those two were the prettiest costumes and could still win a prize.

I wasn’t into being a bride or Ester. I was a little bit of a tomboy, so my costume was different than all the other kids. And I can guarantee you no one showed up holier than I was (unless they came as Jesus), because I was the Holy Bible.

That’s right. I dressed up as the Living Word of God. I got a box, painted it black in the front and back and gold down the sides then added “Holy Bible” to the front. I wore a black turtle neck sweater and gold stockings.

Somehow that costume didn’t win first place. I don’t know how because none of those characters could have shown up to that party if it weren’t for God’s Word. Not that I’m bitter or anything…

Well my costume ideas have taken quite the wild turn from those days. Last week it was time for my 3rd annual costume segment where I go around West Town Mall putting costumes together with clothes you can more likely wear Monday morning, which means you get all your money’s worth out of them.

Here’s what I’ve come up with for Halloween 2015 (remember all of these can be found at West Town Mall)…

Want to be an emoji?! Grab a pink sweater from JCPenney and throw your hand in the air. Done.

If you’re not one who likes to smile, then take full advantage of that with this costume. Get a gorgeous outfit from Ann Taylor (or at the very least get a coat…it’s a great excuse for that!), add some heavy sunglasses and you are Victoria Beckham!

Now if you’re not one for buying clothes for your costume, but you do need new makeup, I suggest stopping by to see the girls at Bare Minerals! Have the girls give your makeup a freshening up, pick up some award winning products and slap an award on your face because you are part of the Allure Best Of Beauty Products!

Claire’s has some cute easy options if you’re just looking to don some head gear…just stay away from the Boho thing if you’ve got hair like mine. It’s not something I can pull off, obvi ;)

And for the cutest option of all…if you’ve got a cutie little kid you’re looking to incorporate into your look, why not dress him and yourself up like the cast of Jersey Shore! I stopped by Charlotte Russe for this great leopard dress. The large earrings and the poof are alllll miiine ;)
