Crapper’s full, so copper boom ya withchay woman since you have the need, the need for speed.
Also a part of that group, but not pictured is my 2013 costume of Jessica Day!
I love getting to be creative with these things and think outside the box. Obviously I didn’t go too far out of the box for myself, as all my characters are my favorite brunettes from TV and movies (Julia Louise Dreyfus has to be my all time favorite actress).
But for Jackson, I enjoyed thinking outside the baby box.
His cousin Eddie costume was decided super last minute and was really easy to create thanks to Amazon. I just hope every year I get to have some kind of say in what he wears. There may have to be lots and lots of candy involved.
My biggest pieces of advice are this…
Don’t over complicate it. Sometimes you can get inside your own head and talk yourself out of ideas that would actually be really cute. Especially if you’re dressing your kids – they’re going to look cute in whatever, so just have fun!
If you’re super stuck, base the outfit around something they love. Jackson currently loves carrying things around. So this year’s costume has something he can carry and he’s wearing something he’s comfortable in and won’t fuss with.
For yourself? Dress up in something you’re comfortable in! Last year when I dressed up as the neighbor from Christmas Vacation (in a literal sweat suit) I was mostly comfortable and also I probably lost 10 pounds in sweat after standing outside in it. So another note: think about your surroundings so you don’t pass out.
Have fun! And if you’re in/around Knoxville and have kids, come to this!
One big happy color coordination.
If styling your family for fall doesn’t stir your creative juices, awaken every excited cell in your body and cause you to dance with open arms singing of how you love life, then thank God cause this world can only hold one of those weirdos.
Now that I’m done singing and dancing about it, let’s talk about how you and your loved ones can look their best in pictures this year!

I’ve got hot trends in the bag.
It’s true what I start this segment off by saying… Updating your bag will freshen your whole look for fall. (But always remember my disclaimer when it comes to shopping trends).
And while it is an investment, if you’ll budget yourself with everything else in your closet you can have your cake and look on point doing it too. ;)
Everyone over at Coach in West Town Mall is so friendly and helpful, stop in and say hi! One thing I didn’t get to mention on the show, was they will monogram the tag on your new Coach bag for free! So that’s a great way to add a personal touch to your bags.
Enjoy watching for more fun trends!
Beauty that can’t stop won’t stop.
I laughed at myself the other day as I put on my makeup around 5:00, lamenting over the fact that I was putting it on for only one event.
In my college days (and even just a couple years ago) I would come home from work and fully refresh my makeup. I’m talking, take it all off and start all over again to go somewhere that night. Nowadays it’s like – Where else can I go with this face?! The store? Does anyone need me to go get them gas?
I swear, Bare Minerals has crawled into my head and started eves dropping on my dreams because every time I start to get a craving for a different kind of foundation, they come out with what I was looking for.
This liquid foundation has gotten me so excited. I get the liquidy goodness of their incredible ingredients, with the coverage of a super model and they staying power of…(I can’t think of a good makeup staying power example other than cement but that’s not a good visual).
PLUS it’s only $34. Sure, it’s a few more dollars than their original powder, but it’s still way cheaper than the $60 foundation I was considering putting in my “cart.” Boy am I glad I didn’t.
Check out this week’s segment for more about that dreamy foundation, and AND see the secret weapon I use for voluminous hair (even at the end of the day)…
Want to know what to shop for this time of year? I’ve got the answer to that.
