Easily Pack for a Weekend Away

What if I told you these four dresses are all you need to pack for a weekend away? Since you have no way to respond to that, here we go…

These four dresses are all you need to pack for a weekend away. Boom.

Now let me explain why…

If you’re skipping town for only a weekend, every minute of your trip counts. The last thing you want to do is get stressed packing or lose any precious time on your trip trying to figure out what to wear. That’s why it’s especially important on a short trip to pack light.

If you’ll throw these four dresses (all from Old Navy by the way) in your suitcase adding a belt, jewelry, jean jacket and your bathing suit – you’ll be all set!

You can wear the long black dress on your travels as it will help keep you warm in the car or plane, and still allow you to cross your legs without showing the world your goods. When you arrive at your destination, add a fancy belt and some necklaces and you’re ready for a nice dinner out!

The next day when you’re on your way to the pool, throw this fuchsia number on over your bathing suit. Then later when you go shopping, pair it with tights and that belt you wore around the black dress the night before. This way you can easily try on clothes while still keeping comfortable and cute.

Go with the blue dress for a night out, pairing it with wedges and gold statement earrings. Lastly, this chic t-shirt dress would be perfect for whatever meandering you do the last day. It can also be paired with tights and will make for another great piece in which to travel home.

Done. Check.

Your husband won’t know what to do when your bag is lighter than his!

First Day of Spring Essentials

Happy first day of spring!

It’s exciting to enter a new season, especially when it’s so different from the last one. What excites me about spring is it means we’re only 6 months away from fall ;)

I’ve put together a great little list of things that would freshen up your wardrobe this season. You can use it as a packing list for now (or later), or keep it as a reminder of what you need to stock up on now that the days will begin to grow warmer.

Either way, take a 2 minute va-cay and check out my latest Style Setter blog!

Pack This for Comfort

Hello July!

Weekend getaways are amping up, which means you’ll need to know how to travel in comfort and style. If you doubt my packing abilities, see this post then come back for great travel tips and tricks all week (as well as tomorrow on Fox43!)

My first piece of packing advice to you this week is…

Pack one small thing that will make your hotel stay comfortable.

For me, it’s my slippers.

My husband actually had this brilliant idea. He doesn’t like the feel of carpet so he wears what he refers to as “house shoes” all the time. He had me pack a pair for him one trip, and after borrowing his the whole time we were away, I realized it was a good idea for me to pack my own.

Now, I never leave home without my own {pink} house shoes.

It’s the greatest touch of home especially when you’re getting out of the shower or have come in from traipsing your feet all over town.

Walking into the hotel and slipping into your own two comfort caves just makes it truly a vacation.

Slippers don’t take up much room, but if your suitcase real estate is super slim then maybe unpack that second pair of flip flops and throw them in.

Even think about buying a smaller, slimmer (but still very cozy) pair that you can just keep in your suitcase (my other slippers with the batman head on top-they’re a good example of not being “travel size”).

I’m combating your every excuse because it’s just the greatest thing in the world to walk around in something only your feet have been in as opposed to the hotel floor where….well, lets just say many have tramped.

Small comforts like this make the trip away from home more easier and slipping into relaxation mode only two FEET away!
