The Lean Mean Spring Clean Pt. 2

Thus far, we’ve got a reason to spring clean: Verbal cadence.
We’ve got the clothes we’ve neglected for the past 8 months separated into three piles, and before all this you’ve gone back and read yesterday’s spiff so you’re all caught up there..now what?

We address the giveaway pile.

First, what qualifies a garment to be in the giveaway pile?
It needs to still hold its shape and be something you would be happy about if someone gave it to you (obviously you’re not currently excited about it or it wouldn’t be in that pile, but try to imagine never having seen it).

Make sure it’s clean, and doesn’t have scary armpits if it’s a shirt (you know what I’m talking about), or frayed hems if it’s a pair of pants.

Clean it and make sure it smells good, and not like the tuna you had for lunch when wearing it last.

Now, pray for the right person to give it to. Cleaning out your closet is a tremendous way to gather up seeds to sow if you’re needing new clothes. Local YWCA’s sometimes take donations to give to women who are getting back on their feet and needing clothes for job interviews.

If you look at your pile of giveaway through the eyes of a woman who is starting from scratch, then that stuff becomes much more valuable. Make sure what you’re giving is good, not tattered and worn out.

God will bless you abundantly for blessing others, and on top of it all you’ll have a cleaner closet! Come back tomorrow for how to determine the next pile!
