Scarf Face

I learned to tie a scarf from a woman standing in a store.

She was just standing there, wearing a scarf in a way I had seen so many other people wear one, so I went up to her and undid her scarf just to see how she did it.

She never objected to my intrusion, in fact I wish she would have spoken up and said that there are so many more ways to do it, but she was just modeling the one. She was a mannequin of course, and I’m very thankful for her bundled outfit because Lord only knows how I else I would have learned.

Since then so many people have asked me how to do it and I happily divulge her secret.

The easiest way to don a scarf is this…
Fold the scarf in half, hang it over your neck so that the loop is on one side and the ends are on the other. Now pull those ends through the loop as far up as you’d like.

Wa-la! You’ve got yourself a warm neck :)
(See the first line in the picture to the right).

A more complicated way is to continue following the steps and you get a nice knot.

This week I’m going to do my best to bring you many more ways, and at the end of the week I will share a link to THE SINGLE greatest tutorial on how to tie your scarves. It has already revolutionized my fall wardrobe and how I wear scarves-how’s that for a teaser?
