Roll With It

Never underestimate the power of a rolled sleeve.

Sleeves are not something we can easily change on our clothes, but rolling them up can give an outfit a completely fresh look.

I’ve got a denim jacket that I always wore with the sleeves down, until during one of my “play with my clothes nights” I discovered how super chic it looked to roll up the sleeves. I haven’t worn the jacket without rolling the sleeves since, and that was over 2 years ago.

It’s not just true for jackets either. A lot of sweaters tend to shrink after several washes and to me there is nothing more uncomfortable/uncool then having sleeves that don’t go past your wrist. If you have a garment like this-always cinch the sleeves!

Another good layering tip with cinched sleeves is to wear a different colored long sleeve top underneath the sweater or jacket your going to cinch, that way it looks like you’ve got two toned sleeves. Word to the wise, though, don’t cinch up the sleeves past your elbow if you’re going to do this, because you want to accent the smallest portion of your arm, not the largest.

Remember too, that if you’re going to turn a sweater into a “cinching sweater” that you’re probably going to stretch out the end of the sleeve, so only do it to sweaters that don’t properly fit at your wrist.
