Lucky Find

This week and next The Spiff is going to dish out spiff straight from the pages of good beauty books.
If you’re not a reader then enjoy the snippets you find on here (and thanks for continuing to read the spiff), but if you are a reader enjoy the snippets then invest in one or two of the books as they can serve as a helpful fashion/beauty bible.

The first book is The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style by Kim France and Andrea Linett. This book is by the editors of Lucky magazine—a source I personally would deem one of, if not the greatest fashion magazine out there. It boasts all kinds of tips and finds ranging in prices (and swings towards the affordable a lot of times which is hard to find in a magazine).

This book is an expanded version of the monthly gem and is perfect if you’re looking to conquer a new look or simply define your current one. The book breaks down looks by categories (ie: the bombshell, American classic, arty slick, bohemian). It’s a great several hundred pages to have lying around in case you don’t know what to pair with what next time you’re putting an outfit together (and much more compact then having hundreds of magazines lying around—i.e. my apartment).
Plus they have a section in the back that shows you how to mix different looks which I think is great for those times when you ask yourself, “is this too risky?”
Try it, I guarantee you’ll like it.
