Paging through a magazine this morning I found that GAP refers to their jeans as “magical” in their ad, so that just proves that this week when I’ve done it, it’s been no exaggeration.

Speaking of jeans, just a few more tips to wrap up this week of buying the perfect pair…
Make sure that the pair you buy fit snuggly, but not tight.  A good test of this is to sit down and if the top of the jeans cut into your stomach then it’s too tight, but if you can sit comfortably in them then you’ll be alright.

And don’t sway to far to the “loose” end of things either.  Remember jeans tend to stretch out so if they’re loose in the dressing room then they’ll be baggy by their third wear.

Give them a test run in the dressing room-sitting down, standing up, even bending over (although the bending over is almost pointless since most jeans at this point will show your underwear) just make sure you examine their fit at every angle.  If they pass all these tests, then you’ve got a friend for life.

Here’s a fun size portion of jean shopping on the spiff this week:
1. Pick a store that has a wide selection of fits and washes
2. Shop on a day where you have lots of time, energy and aren’t full or hungry
3. Keep an open mind-try on fits you’ve never tried before
4. Use the knowledge of the sales associates to find a good fit
5. Try on one size higher, one size lower, and two in your size to make sure you get the right fit
6. Take the shoes you’ll wear with them the most to make sure they’re the right length
7. Make sure they’re snug and not tight
8. Check them out at every angle

Thanks to Lucky magazine for this weeks Spiff, and YOU for reading!!

Have a Spiff-tacular weekend!

PS: I just found out that Levi’s has a new jean out that allows you to pick a size according to your butt-dilemma.  The fit of the jeans are based on your curves-if you have a butt or not, you can read more about it at their site levi.com.
