Have Ridiculously Cute Clothes, Will Travel

If you’re anything like me, you are already salivating over boots, sweaters, soup, anything fall related.  But I am determined to hold myself back and instead linger over the sweet after taste of summer rather then jumping into the next seasonal dish, if you will.

It’s still vacation season which means that question of what to pack is lingering over someone’s head, but today’s spiff is going to tell it to loiter no more.

The thing about vacation time is that you never really know what to pack on the scale of casual to dressy.  You may find that you really like that burger joint and don’t want to venture out to the steak house or visa versa, so how do you prepare for that?

The key is to pack items that can be easily transformed.  For example, a pretty maxi dress can serve as a bathing suit cover by day, and with the help of a belt, long necklace, jacket can be your easy going elegance by night. (If you don’t have a maxi dress but want to get one for your vay-cay then opt for one in a pastel color-that will show off your tan!)

Also, cargo pants.  If you’re a daytime shopper throw these on with some flip flops and a tank top and you’re good to go in comfort; take along some gladiator sandals and a beaded sleeveless top and you’re ready to dine with the best of them.

Speaking of sandals, if you don’t already own some of the dressier flats that are floating around I would highly suggest that you use your vacation time to try them out.  What I love is that they are flat, usually comfortable, and are super dressy which help you keep cool / look cool.

Don’t be afraid to pack a top or two that you’ve been hesitant to wear in your everyday life.  A vacation out of town where no one knows you and what you typically wear is great testing ground for things that you’re a little unsure of.

Most importantly, relax! Do all your thinking about clothes when you pack so that once you get there, all you have to do is chill.
