Fabric Nerd/Buff-Whichever

I don’t know about you, but I’m a glass is half full/jeans should be 98% denim kind of gal.

This entire post may have you believing that there are really weird annal people out there, but we prefer the terms “quirky” and “well dressed”.

Fabric is so important. When it comes to tights or jeans or t-shirts, it can be the difference of you keeping a piece forever, or being a serious waist of money.

Here is what my annal self looks for when shopping for these three things:
Tights: My number 3 goal in life is to never look like an 80’s work out star, and making sure the tights I buy aren’t mostly nylon helps me achieve this goal. Those kinds of tights will look shiny in some lights, so you want to go with the kind that are mostly cotton.

Denim: In the search for the perfect jeans, I learned that anything that’s no mostly denim will largely be a pain in the seat, so you want to look for 98% denim with a little bit of give so you’re not Cramer walking around with Frankenstein legs-2% lycra will help you with that problem.

T-Shirts: Forget world peace, it’s sizing and t-shirt formulas that I would like clothing makers to collaborate and come to an agreement on, but we all know how hopeless that is. In the mean time, look for 95% cotton and 5% spandex, for that well worn-I’m not trying hard at all to look as insanely sexy as I do-feel.

Yes, tracking down the tag and looking up a shirts contents may have you clearing a room and getting joked about behind your back, but when they see you in that perfect 98% cotton/2% lycra combination they can’t help but be jealous.
