Coupon Schmoupon

As a general rule, I avoid conversations (or TV shows for that matter) with extreme couponers.

Why?
Because they make me feel like I am walking into the grocery store, marching straight back to the bathrooms, and flushing Benjamin’s down the john.

I do what I can when it comes to coupons, I cut them out, I categorize, I build my list so that they fit in not the other way around. But I just can’t achieve the coveted “I bought $4,000 worth of groceries for $0.50” bragging rights.

One method of couponing I do enjoy and brag about, is coupon codes online.

Every time you go to click your way through a purchase online, when you get to the checkout part if there is a “promo code” section always, ALWAYS google the company name and “promo codes”.

When it came time to check out when I purchased my Crocs, there was a promo code section so I hoped to a new page googled it and Wha-La! Free shipping!

Sometimes you’ll have to google “coupon codes” in addition to “promo codes”, and sometimes you’ll have to dig. Don’t give up. It’s worth it. I’ve saved lots and lots of money this way. Retail Me Not is a great, trustworthy site, as are any that don’t require you to click somewhere else. The promo code should be right there ready to go, don’t enter extra information (especially of the personal nature) to get to them.

It’s so totally worth it. And you won’t have to store 5 years worth of toilet paper to feel like you’ve saved. Plus it’s the easiest possible way to brag about money you’ve saved, do it!!! I’ll join you!!
