1993 Was a Good Year for Grape Juice

When I was a little girl I watched a lot of old movies.  I was really into musicals for a period of time (I’m happy to say it was only a phase ;)

I do remember watching people in movies drink wine, and in an effort to appear just as sophisticated, I would go to our kitchen and pour a glass of grape juice which I would then drink slowly and sophisticatedly while watching the people on TV do the same.

To this day I associate alcohol with grape juice (and not being a drinker I’ll happily stay ignorant of it’s real taste).  That one part in Anne of Green Gables where she accidentally serves Diana wine instead of cherry cordial still sends my mouth watering for grape juice. As does my nail polish this week.

Never one to take a break from dark polishes too long, I went immediately for my favorite this week (actually my favorite favorite is “Eiffel for this color” but it’s gotten too old to use and “Black Cherry Chutney” is really close to being the same color).

I love it’s deep, dark purple-ness which makes everyone assume it’s black, but in the right light you can see that it’s not. It’s mysterious that way.

And it makes the little girl in me want to sit down with a good movie and a big glass of grape juice :)
