Watching someone apply liquid eyeliner is a lot like watching someone drive stick shift for the first time. Daunting, scary, and very intimidating.

I remember watching my sister drive stick, thinking how complicated it looked. At the time I couldn’t fathom driving let alone driving with a to do list, geeez!

After some time and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of practice, pretty soon (relatively speaking) I had mastered stick shift driving myself. Fast forward to today, I don’t even have to think about the motions, I just drive.

It’s possible to get to that same relaxed status with liquid eyeliner. I know it’s daunting. I know seeing the tiny end of that liner tip makes you quiver inside, but trust me, you can be applying without even thinking about the motions in no time at all.

First make sure you choose a good product (of course). What’s made me a believer in liquid lined eyes is Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner from Sephora.

Again, don’t be turned off by the tip. It looks like a crazy thing to master but really it’s not as flimsy as it looks.

What I use this for are my low makeup days. It’s perfect for giving me that close line that makes my lashes look fuller without looking over done. Plus it gives my every other day eye makeup routine a nice break.

It did take some practice at first, but now I just take it and drag it as close to the very edge of my eyelid as possible.

It would also work if you just dotted it close to the lash line and fill in as you go.

Another way I use it is as a refresher before going out at night. Instead of refreshing my black line with something that could flake off all over my face, I take this liner and refresh the line I drew in the morning and I’m back to black.

It’s a good little tool to have in your makeup arsenal. AND as a bonus, if you’ll apply (after some practice) in front of other people, you’ll have them in awe of your liquid lining ability and leave them wondering how you got to be so cool :)
