The sun is out, so let’s put our best face forward…while completely slathered in sun screen of course.

We’re entering the time of year where we’re showing a lot of skin, so I wanted to bring you products that are going to help you feel good in that skin.

You know what would be great? If someone would pop out at will and slather me with sunscreen the instant I needed it. I have no real reason for writing that, I just thought that would be cool.

MOVING RIGHT ALONG… I took some great products from West Town Mall on the show with me last week to proves that you can get beautiful summer skin all the while being naturally protected and pampered. So check it out!

Then be sure to take a look at this post for any bag needs to have for all your cool summer trips!

Glowing Winter Skin – Not an Oxymoron

sephora, face masks, west town mall, knoxville beauty blogger, wtm style consultant, masks, good face masks, hydrating face masks

Anyone else fervently praying for snow? CAUSE YOU KNOW I AM.

I so love winter and the lack of bugs it brings with it. I also love the lack of events. I’m such a homebody, especially after having a child, and any day I can spend entirely in my house without even getting in the car is a good day by me.

It’s also a great time to care for your skin since no makeup will be seeing the light of day.

That’s why I like to stock up on great masks and I recently spent some time in Sephora at West Town Mall getting a quick tutorial on masks and which ones are good ones…which I passed onto you in last weeks segment on Ten News This Morning.

So watch it, then go get your bread, milk, eggs and face masks!

Tips on How to Plan All Your Christmas Outfits

christmas party outfits, white house black market, west town mall holiday looks, elizabeth ogle, knoxville fashion, banana republic, what to wear to a christmas party

Tis the season to be gorgeous, fa la la la la la la la la.

This past Saturday, I carved out some time to try on clothes. While there were several moments when I wondered if I was truly being productive, the fact that I’m now into December and not having to give a second thought to what I’m going to wear to the three big events I have this week says a resounding YES. Yes I WAS being productive.

Your calendar may not be jammed packed with fancy parties, but it may have a friendly get together or two, and to avoid any and all stress it’s really good to pre-plan what you’re going to wear.

I have a small rotation of sequined items that I go through this time of year, but my goal every year is to wear them in a fresh way. Which is also why taking time to play around with what’s in your closet is a good thing – it gives you time to be creative.

Another bonus? It will save you money. I’m trying my darndest not to spend a lot of money on clothes (especially with a baby bump) and the more I can creatively use what’s in my closet the better.

Pull out and play with what you’ve got! And when you get stuck, hop on Pinterest and search for the piece you’re struggling with. Say it’s a sequin pencil skirt you don’t know how to look fresh – then search “Sequin pencil skirt outfit” and look at the results! Keep in mind, you don’t have to directly copy anything you see if you don’t want. But take a look instead at the silhouette that’s going on in the picture. Is the skirt mostly paired with tight tops or big voluminous sweaters? If it is a big sweater, what do you have in your closet that mimics the shape?

This is my thought process as I go through and test each outfit idea. It’s so fun to see and use what you’ve already got. And if you find that you are missing something, no worries! Now you know exactly what you need, or at least have a clearer picture of what holes you need to fill for a fabulous holiday season of outfits!

Oh and if you need any ideas on where to spend your clothing cash, here are some fabulous outfit ideas from White House Black Market and Banana Republic in West Town Mall. Also, be sure to listen as I go through each piece and give alternate styling ideas…

The Perfect Handbag for the Season

coach, vera bradley, west town mall, coach in west town mall, vera bradley in west town mall, fall purse trends, fall handbag trends, fall fashion, knoxville fashion, 10 news this morning, knoxville blogger,

You’re going to want an extra shoulder.

So you read my last blog about the importance of carrying a good bag and you’re in! But now what?

You know I’m not a big proponent of following trends just because they’re trendy, so in this week’s segment on 10 News This Morning, I talked about how you can incorporate the trends while still keeping within the “classic” lines.

I mean some of the purses that came down fashion show runways were a little ridiculous (saw one that was a can of tomato soup. No soup for me, thanks). Let’s go for looking fresh yet maintaining a classic style – all the while incorporating details that fit both you and your lifestyle.

And if you need to, look at your current bag and think what you’d want to change/keep about it and go from there.

Personally? I’m going to need all these bags from Coach and Vera Bradley at West Town Mall soooo I’m gonna need to add another side hustle. No big deal, just a small non-time consuming side project that makes me millions.

Tips for Wearing Boots/Booties in a Flattering Way

Booties rocking everywhere.

I made the decision once October hit that I wasn’t going to show off my toes any more because Lord do I hate painting them. Can I get an AMEN. So I’m happy to not be sweating it out in boots anymore now that the weather DECIDED TO COOPERATE.

Since there are so many options when it comes to refreshing your shoe collection this fall, I thought I’d make it even harder with these beauties – Ha! JK. But seriously, it’s not going to be easy deciding which ones not to get.

I do hope the tips I give in the clip will help you decide which shoe is right for your frame.

Couple things I didn’t get to add but wanted to – is to make sure that if you wear a size 10 (like myself) that you try to stay away from pointy-toed boots as best you can. The will make your foot look longer and I’ve never found that to be something I’ve enjoyed – however I did read once that the bigger your foot looks, the smaller your legs looks by comparison. Sooo maybe it’s not such a bad thing to pile on the foot bulk? Haha

Another thing to keep in mind, is if you’re going for tall/flat boots, look for some with minimal hardware. That will help keep everything looking sleek and slim.

Enjoy the rest of these tips and these beautiful boots all found at West Town Mall! See their specific stores below…
Oh and not to mention my fun announcement about Elianna at the end! (PS: this is the first mention of her on TV, Abby just got confused :) – all things I’ll explain to Elianna when she asks why I didn’t save the “other” video)
