Why This Works

Right about now, you’re probably over this cold weather.

And you’re probably growing weary of all your sweaters and boots, and can’t wait to slip back in a sun dress. I’m not with you at all.

I’m still basking in the fact that I don’t have to think about how tan I am, or paint my toes (I really hate doing that). I’m also very good with the fact that I haven’t seen a bug in a really long time, or that I’ve not walked outside and started sweating even though I just took a shower.

I’m still very cool with this whole winter thing. So I’m hoping this outfit break down will get you there as well.
Just think in a few months we’re not going to be able to cocoon ourselves in a cozy sweater like this one from Express.

That’s why I’m loving every minute in these long knit cardigans. I decided to pair it with a striped pencil skirt from Forever21.
Before I edited the outfit, I had started with a plain black shirt underneath. But on second look I thought how it needed something else. So I went back and added this slightly peplum top I got from American Eagle a couple years ago. It’s got just the right amount of flair at the bottom which makes it perfect for adding a leopard belt.
Now the outfit has more visual interest and just the right amount going on around my waste so as to not look boring.

This black and gold necklace from Aldo is just the right length for this neckline, and of course I’m going to add tights (another thing to love about this time of year) and my favorite favorite boots from Dillards. Oh ladies, I’ve talked myself into a winter-loving frenzy.

Just embrace this time of year and all the wrapping up in cute/comfortable clothes that comes with it!

My Snuggie Sweater

Today enjoy a post about one of my favorite things to wear. I wrote this last year but everything still holds true. And even though it’s not raining outside today (I think it’s supposed to at some point) it is cooooold outside so a big cozy snuggie sweater would be perfect!

On a cold rainy day such as this one, I reach for one thing (well too if you count my Uggs) a sweater that’s as close to a snuggie as I can get without being embarrassed to go out in public.

One of the 100,000 reasons I love fall/winter the most because on a rainy day in winter you can dress all cozy and still be cute. In the summer cozy and cute translates to sweats and that translates to, “we need to have a talk about your life choices.”

My two favorite sweaters to wear on days like today are the big/waterfall kind that cascade down in layers of-what I tell myself is my comforter which makes it easy to get and stay out of bed in the mornings.

You should think about getting a sweater like this. Or just any article of clothing you can go to on a day when you know every fiber of your being is going to want to lounge. Buy something you can secretly lounge in, but to the world reads-I’ve got it all pulled together and don’t I look cute!?

These types of pieces help tremendously lift your spirits and get you excited about cozy, rainy cold days. It doesn’t take much to get me excited on those days (I love weather that makes you happy to be indoors), but it just sky rockets my happiness when I can take the comfort with me where ever I go.

This is my cold/rainy uniform, so I’m sure to buy a sweater much like this one whenever I see it on sale so I can switch it up while still feeling comfortable. You should too!

It’s a blanket with sleeves…but still stylish!

A New (and Fabulous) BB Cream

Skin can be a lot of work. It’s one of the reasons why winter is so fabulous, you get to throw on cute tights, boots, sweaters, scarves…that’s much less work!

But the season will come around again where we’re baring it all *sigh. It’s a lot more work, but thanks to Jergens it’s going to be a lot easier.

They’ve taken the BB Cream south and made it for our whole body! Instead of just our faces getting all the moisture, repair and skin perfecting elements, we can now have that all over the place.

Their formula firms, evens, corrects, moisturizes…it’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a skin cream.

More great news? Ok.

The more you use it the better your skin looks. That’s a huge bonus for me. I love it when something isn’t just masking a problem but fixing it too.

You can bet your sweet sticky buns I’m going to be bathing in this stuff all spring/summer long.

And the fact that it’s only $13 will certainly help make that possible.

Before you get your hands on this stuff, get skin that glows with one of these five products!

Get an Instant Glow With These 5 Products

It may be the dead of winter, but that doesn’t mean what little skin we’re showing can’t glow.

Because we’re showing so little skin (and thank God for that, the upkeep is wildly easier in the winter, am I right!?)…but because we’re showing so little, we should make sure that what we are showing looks good.
And I have good news about that, glowing skin is only 5 products away.
Check out my latest Style Setter blog for the 5 products that will get you glowing skin this winter. Start the year with a good skin regime and you’ll sale right through to summer.

For a Moment…

Pretend you love cold weather.

Just one moment.
Ok you ready?

It’s snowing!
I LOVE that it’s snowing in March! And that I have fellow winter lovers like you to share this happiness with ;)
One thing I’m trying to build my wardrobe around right now are all my favorite cozy winter items and colors. Pretty soon the brights are going to be switched on and lighter materials will be coming out of hibernation. So around this time of year when it’s still cold, I like to do what I call the, “best of” rotation.
I take all my favorite winter articles of clothing and give them another round. This way I squeeze all of the love out while I can, and I feel as if I’m completely ready for spring clothes when it comes time for them.
Today, for example I’ve busted out a dark maroon top that I know won’t be able to see the light of day for a little while, along with a waterfall jacket that’s one of my Forever21 favorites. Oh and I can’t forget one of my favorite articles of clothing I own-my Forever21 winter coat. I love this thing so much I’m going to get the buttons changed out just so I can keep it around longer!
Also, snuggle up in your favorite winter coat! Or if your favorite winter sweater has some sparkles on it, here’s a pass to wear it to the office! Do it so that you can wear it and love it again, plus unexpected sparkles (just this one time) may brighten the day of someone else who’s wishing it were warm.
It’s a good way to keep your attitude up if you’re ready for 75 degree temps. Wear what you loved most about winter and you’ll squeeze a little goodness out of a cold situation.
As usual, if anyone needs a winter pep talk, feel free to see me-I love love love the cold and snow!
Ok, feel free to switch back to a winter-hater now. Thanks for appeasing me ;)
