The Necklace You Shouldn’t Wear with a V-Neck Tee

Sometimes I touch my face and have to remember if I’m wearing makeup or not. Anyone else do that?

You go to rub your eye, or you actually rub it and realize you put on mascara that day. Oops.

This year my work environment got super casual – as in I have no commute and my dog is my office mate. So I don’t put makeup on everyday. Which is what causes the panic every time I touch my eye. Wait…am I messing up makeup? Yep. (that just happened)

I’m telling you all of this because my wardrobe is leaning heavily towards the casual these days. But that just means IĀ get to play around with dressing up casual pieces. Like this great t-shirt I picked up at TJ Maxx. I wish I would have grabbed one in every color because I looooove it like a teen girl loves a pop song.

It’s the right length, it’s got a not-too-revealing neckline and it’s comfy. Oh and it was like $6. I know, WHY DIDN’T I PICK UP 40 OF THEM!?

But the neckline can be a bit tricky, so I enlisted the help of my assistant, Veronica, and together we’ll show you what necklaces to wear and which ones to avoid when dressing up a v-neck tee.

Enjoy!

Here’s a necklace similar to the black and white one! And it’s on sale at Fiore Boutique (go see them in West Town Mall)!

Have I mentioned that my video quality will get better soon? I’m working on that. Right now my motto with videos is, “Just do it already!!” but I’ll soon have higher quality. Just hang in there and explain that to the 15,000 friends you forward this link to. K? K.

How to Accessorize a Top Two Ways

For a while now I’ve been toying with the idea of making video blogs (or “vlogs” as you’ll soon learn they’re called). Finally, I’ve put every excuse aside and I’ve done it.

Please enjoy this first ever video blog from TheSpiff.com!

And please excuse the fact that sometimes I sound as if I’m out of breath, there is a baby in my belly :)

Easily Update Your Look This Spring

Spring is here and we all want to dress for it, but instead of going out and buying a whole new wardrobe or dripping daisies off your head, an easy way to update your look is to buy accessories.

Layering statement necklaces, earrings and bracelets over basics can transform an outfit and give you more use out of the pieces you have hanging in your closet. Because a great necklace doesn’t have to go with just one outfit, and it will always fit you (no matter how pregnant you get ;)

Watch to see all the fabulous things Charming Charlies in West Town Mall has to offer…

How to Accessorize a Fancy Sweater

how to accessorize a metallic sweater, metallic sweater, what to wear to a christmas party

I know there’s been a lot of talk of Christmas outfits around here lately, but this is a fashion blog and it is Christmas time. You didn’t come here to get the latest tech news. ;)

I first wrote about this sweater last Friday. But I wanted to talk about how I accessorized it.

Again, the great thing about going with something shiny is that it can stand on it’s own. A silver necklace wouldn’t work because it would disappear into the sweater. I considered doing a black necklace (and may go with one in the future) but because I was wearing my hair down, it wouldn’t get proper exposure.

So I chose these snake skin-patterned earrings. They were perfect because they had a pattern and weren’t shiny. This sweater really shines in real life, and adding shiny earring on top of that would mean passing out sunglasses before I walk into the room.

Remember, it’s all about balance. And (like you’ve heard me say a lot here lately) texture! If you have any questions related to this, remember to click on my social media links there on the right :) @thespiff_e on both Twitter and Instagram!
