A Little Hair, A Little Nails, A Lot of Spiff…

Focus was not on the blog this week, but to make up for it I’m super sizing this one (that’s what happens when all the balls you’re juggling get thrown at you at the same time-you tend to drop one).

Three things you get in this post-
One: A way to add a dose of “cool” to your Easter outfit
Two: A new product review
Three: This weeks nails!

Beginning with Three! Ha, we’re shaking things up…
My week, and my April, began with a business trip. Which meant that my nails needed to look simultaneously “me” and business appropriate. Which is why I went with one of my magnetics…

Unfortunately I can’t find the name of this one, so I’ve given it my own :) “To Taupe it Off” (Ooo or “Taupe of the Morning to You!”) Ha can you tell I’ve been reading OPI names for a while? I love this polish because it is both wacky and sedate at the same time.

The wackiness comes from the fact that it’s magnetic (hello!) but the color is one that’s not out there…a nice sedate taupe. It’s probably my favorite of the magnetics for that very reason. It’s really everything I aim to be-classic yet funky.

On to number….Two!

I’ve got a love/hate relationship with hard core trends. Hair feathers, for example, was one I was aiming to try when I heard about it last spring, but was instantly turned off the moment it hit everyone in the head by mid-summer.
The one thing I loved about the hair feather trend was that it made you look like you had streaks of a different color in your hair.

Fast forward to today…this morning I tried Splat Washables. It’s hair color that you streak through your hair and blow dry solid, then wash out the next time you wash your hair. It’s left my hair a little crunchy but not bad. I’m very excited because I never plan on permanently changing my hair color, but this is a nice little funky change up for every time I’m feeling…well, funky. :)

And One!
It looks to be an absolutely gorgeous day on Sunday and even a bit nippy. If you plan on lighting the earth with your dress color this Easter, think about anchoring your look with booties. It’s an unconventional shoe choice, yet I’ve been mulling it over and I think it’s the perfect base to a fun look. You’ve got a bright dress on, add some black bootie heels and your feet will stay warm and your look will be so cool!

Hey, you know me, I’ll stretch out winter wear well into July if I can get away with it ;)

Hope this post makes up for my neglegence this week.

Have a happy Easter everyone, and remember the focus is not your dress but the Savior that rose from the dead so that you might be free to be you-in Him!
